![]() by Rob Disario Exclusive to Arena Football Talk: According to Kevin J. Corbin, owner of the New England Calvary football team, a new Arena League is coming to the northeast. The New England Arena League (NEAL) will play all games in a central location to alleviate the travel issue that commonly plagues the sport. That venue has yet to be determined but cities under consideration is West Warwick (RI), Fall River (MA) and New Bedford (MA). Corbin says several team owners have congregated to determine what the league will require from teams. Specifically, the league would require mandatory live game broadcasting, stats updated daily and up to the minute roster updates. In addition, Corbin says they’ve teamed up with an online gaming company to introduce a Fantasy League for arena football. This software company apparently owns the licensing rights to software that’ll bring the arena game into the living room of fans. This initiative has the potential to introduce new fans to the arena game and is scheduled to go live on Friday, November 16th. "This will be huge" Corbin said. "I told them about the football [business] in New England and what it was missing...and boom. Here we go!" No teams have officially announced joining the NEAL but Corbin reports 8 to 12 New England teams will participate. More league news will be released this Friday.
